Spiritual Path
My passion for and training in shamanic healing and nutrition have grown out of my life experience.
Education and Experience
I have a Ph.D. in physical anthropology and have directed large research projects in developing countries, the US Congress, private companies and not-for-profit research centers. Currently I am a co-investigator on the first National Institutes of Health-funded clinical trial of shamanic healing.
Energy Work and Nutrition
In the early 1990’s I began a practice in Bioenergy Balancing, which combines nutrition, eastern medicine, holistic health, and metaphysics. The work helps clients access their inner wisdom to help release emotions and physical blockages keeping them from achieving their true potential. During this time I also became a certified enneagram instructor to better understand patterns of development and insights my clients were experiencing. To better meet potential nutritional questions, I completed the Nutrition Educator program through the Institute of Educational Therapy (now known as Bauman College).
Shamanic Training
By the mid 1990’s I began to study shamanic healing. I continue to work individually with a very experienced shaman to develop my practice, and attend trainings from several gifted teachers. I am a member of the Society of Shamanic Practitioners and am listed as a teacher and practitioner through Sandra Ingerman’s shamanic teachers organization. My training is described below.

Spiritual Path
I attend silent retreats led by my spiritual teacher Adyshanti. My shamanic and Zen spiritual practice continue to enrich my life, and help me draw on an ever-deepening wisdom to guide my clients.
In my spare time I enjoy walking and hiking in the beautiful woods in and around Portland, Oregon. I love to cook for my friends, sit with them in my kitchen, and talk and laugh together as we share food. I study Iyengar yoga and do ecstatic dance weekly. I am passionate about beautiful music and the movies. When sitting in the stillness, I love to listen to the birds singing.
